The most recent issue of
Mosaic was published in July 2009 -yuck! We are
making every effort to get back on a quarterly schedule.
The goal is to have the next issue available in
March, then subsequent issues in June, September, and
December. |

As the recession
supposedly eases, Mosaic continues to develop
ways to grow stronger and wiser in 2010. Our strategy
has always been to develop a strong earned-income model
to serve our mission of restoring the importance of
reading books as an essential tool for creating
intelligent, productive, and engaged young people. Our
main expense remains printing. We hope to shift to
digital printing, which will allow shorter print runs.
Literary-arts workshops for educators will be
launched this April. Participants will be required to
pay a nominal fee to attend. We will also start
community-based workshops in the fall for students and
parents. Fees will be charged directly to the CBO. Our
workshops focus on the crucial need for reading and
expository writing skills as essential elements for
increased cultural identity, vocational prospects, and
education opportunities.
To offer better transparency we now list our most
current financial statements, bylaws, IRS 501c3
tax-exempt letter, charities registration letter, and
certificate of incorporation. Our IRS 990 forms can be
found on
Guidestar.org. All are available at
http://literaryfreedom.org/docs.htm. We've also set
an ambitious schedule of three grant submissions per
month, which we hope to also chart online.
